Brittany is hosting many recognized institutions specialized in health research, but also living labs and experimental platforms. Biotech Santé Bretagne is coordinating a large innovation network, composed from companies, research labs and care institutions.

Research is carried out on cancer and the links between environment, nutrition and health.
Université de Bretagne Occidentale
UBO is leading on research in cancerology and also working on biotechnologies and processing of medical information.
Inria
Inria’s work is at the crossroads of this domain and the “Secure and responsible digital economy” SIA. Researchers are working on ways to use Artificial Intelligence for health data management, diagnostics and imagering.
IMT Atlantique
Like Inria, IMT Atlantique researchers are carrying their research between this domain and the “Secure and responsible digital economy” area. Besides the use of artificial intelligence, they are also working on information processing and dedicated engineering.
L’Institut Agro Rennes-Angers
Health issues are tackled at l’Institut Agro Rennes-Angers from the agricultural perspective, at the crossroads with the “Food economy for everyone to eat well” area. In particular, research is focused on the impact of cheese on health, and adaptation of cheese for elderly people.
Université Rennes 2
Researchers from Université Rennes 2 are looking at health and well-being issues from a humanist point of view. Therefore, they are focused on behaviour, psychology and sport studies.
